Stonehenge Painted Feather has compiled an awesome show record. He is a stallion who, once seen in the ring, cannot be forgotten. Feather commands your attention and rewards his audience with a picture of perfection in the miniature horse.

In 1997 the breeding of Feather to our Championship mares began. His foals have proved his record in showing has been surpassed by the pictures of miniature perfection in his Get.

Since our acquisition of Stonehenge Painted Feather in 1996 for our herd sire, we have experienced the thrill of the showring championships and now the thrill of watching our breeding program produce champions in each new foal crop.

Feather's get have won multiple Regional Grand Championships, World Championships and World Reserve Grand Championships. His foals have received these World Championships in Open Halter, Amateur, Multi-Color and in Single Pleasure Driving classes. Now his grandget have been awarded World Championships.

When the decision was made to add the American Miniature Horse to our family ranch, we hoped to give to the industry a miniature with beauty, color, pedigree, motion and heart. Today we find ourselves thrilled with the type that Feather crossed with our Champion mares is producing for the showring. Through the last AMHA show season our Feather foals have garnered over 60 AMHA Top Ten Championships in only 11 foal crops.

And now our first Bear Branch bred horses have entered the driving arena ...... watch for the movement of our World Champions.

RANCH HISTORY

Our introduction to the Miniature Horse began when a mother and daughter followed an auctioneer's voice at the Houston Livestock Show to find a Miniature Horse sale. We left the sale knowing someday we would bring our addition to the family ranching business The American Miniature Horse

Our family began arriving in Callahan County, Texas in 1877. In that year, J.B. Cutbirth drove his herd of cattle onto that soil. This was the beginning of his permanent land possessions in Texas. He had left home as a boy of nine years old to begin ranch work. By eleven he was driving range herds into Kansas and by the age of sixteen he had purchased his first beef cattle. His young wife was an intregal part of this process having taught him to read, write and perform math needed for buying and selling of cattle.

The Cutbirth-Bonner family is today in its sixth generation of breeding horned Hereford cattle. The additions of grazing pasture land, improved farm land and the breeding and training of the registered quarter horse as cutting horses and working ranch horses have been contributions of the generations that followed. The years have not diluted the family's love of the land and breeding for improved beef. Presently the great, great grandchildren of Mr. Cutbirth are developing programs of wildlife management and soil conservation.
